This budget LP from 1982 has just ten of the 14 selections recorded at what would be guitarist/pianist/vocalist/comedian Slim Gaillard’s next-to-last album; it would be 24 years before his final effort. Gaillard’s backup rhythm section is unidentified, and although the set has its humorous moments (such as “Tall and Slim,” “Slim’s Cee,” “Rooster Rock” and “Walkin’ & Cookin’ Blues”), it is not quite on the same level as Slim’s earlier classics.
